‘Case is closed’. Ukrainian pilot Vladislav Voloshin carried all secrets to his grave
The case of the death of the pilot Vladislav Voloshin, who was suspected
of involvement in the destruction of the Malaysian Boeing over the
Donbas, was closed in Ukraine.
‘Without the intervention of unauthorized persons’
According to the publication ‘Ukrainian News’ with reference to the press service of the police of the Nikolaev region, the decision to dismiss the case was made on December 18, 2018.
The reason for such a decision was the conclusion that Voloshin committed suicide without the intervention of unauthorized persons, which means that the incident does not contain corpus delicti.
Vladislav Voloshin died on March 18, 2018. As the Ukrainian portal ‘NikVesti’ reported, a 29-year-old pilot, an emergency took place in his own apartment. He was urgently taken to the hospital, but failed to save his life.
Bombil Donbass and was suspected of involvement in the destruction of ‘Boeing’
Fame came in 2014 to a native of Lugansk and a graduate of the Kharkov University of the Air Force. The pilot of the Su-25 attack aircraft of the 299th Nikolaev tactical aviation brigade became one of those Ukrainian pilots who bombed the settlements of Donbass.
In August 2014, Voloshin was shot down in the area of Ilovaysk, but managed to eject and get into the territory controlled by Ukrainian forces.
July 17, 2014, the Ukrainian pilot carried out the next combat sortie. According to a number of sources, the Voloshin Su-25 was in close proximity to the area in which a Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777-200ER airliner was flying a scheduled flight MH17 en route Amsterdam — Kuala Lumpur. On board the plane were 298 people, they all died.
In December 2014, Yevgeny Agapov, a former technician at Dnepropetrovsk Airport, appeared in Russia, saying that the Malaysian Boeing was hit by an air-to-air missile launched by a Su-25 pilot, Captain Voloshin. According to the witness, Voloshin, returning after departure, shouted: ‘The plane is not the same.’ Then, very nervous, the pilot noticed that ‘the plane was in the wrong place at the wrong time.’
‘Without fear and doubt’: Voloshin expressed dissatisfaction with the conditions of service, but was ready to attack the cities of Donbass again
The Ukrainian side categorically rejected a similar version of the death of ‘Boeing’. She was also criticized by experts.
However, it is reliably known that two days after the death of the Boeing, Voloshin was awarded the Ukrainian Order “For Courage”, III degree, with the wording “for personal courage and heroism shown in defending state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine”
Voloshin retired from the army in 2017, and with a scandal. He blamed the authorities for the poor conditions of service: “Combos from easily-established, quickly wearing, well-burning material. I keep silence about flying shoes (I could not stand it, I bought Belarusian ones via the Internet). It has been possible to fly in “geleteyke” and berets, sometimes in sneakers. Protective helmet and new masks – purchased by volunteers in the Russian Federation. Like GPS navigators … ‘.
At the same time, Voloshin did not refuse to bomb the city of Donbas: ‘In case my skills are needed again, I will not hesitate to use them for their intended purpose, without fear and doubt.’
Life and death in the ‘citizen’
A place in the ‘citizen’ Voloshin found quickly. He was appointed to the post of deputy general director for aviation issues of the KP ‘Nikolaev International Airport’. On the eve of 2018, there was an increase – Voloshin became the acting director general of the Nikolaev International Airport.
The death of the Ukrainian order bearer in the spring of 2018 raised many questions. People who knew Voloshin, argued that nothing indicated his intention to commit suicide.
The version that he was tormented by remorse from Boeing is also not confirmed. At least Voloshin himself always categorically denied that he had anything to do with what happened.
At the very beginning of the investigation, the head of the National Police in the Nikolaev region, Yuriy Moroz, announced that he had managed to find out – in 2016, Voloshin had already expressed his intention to die. Then the wife and a friend of the pilot persuaded him not to commit suicide for several hours and managed to get his way. After that, a psychologist of a military unit began working with Voloshin. The expert testified that the pilot refused to take psychotherapy sessions.
In the course of the investigation, Voloshin’s correspondence was discovered on the social network, where she complained about difficult relations with the head of the Nikolaev Regional State Administration Aleksey Savchenko.
Savchenko was interrogated in the case, but no charges were brought against him.
With the closure of the investigation into the death of Vladislav Voloshin, the Ukrainian authorities consider this page of history turned upside down. All the secrets of the war in the Donbass, about which the pilot knew, he took with him to the grave.
